Sorry to see yours bit the dust. I have the same model and it's still going strong. Can't believe how long it's lasted!
Thanks, this was 1 step in helping us repair 2 of my grandfather's old routers. Just needed to go 1 step further in taking out the stator. That was difficult to figure out but just had to pound it out of the black plastic housing with a rubber mallet. We took it apart a little differently, couldnt get it to separate where you did, ours was model 315.17492 though. Gave it all a good cleaning from packed sawdust & it worked again! The other model (315.17461) had a burnt through wire but was able to use 1 of the heat shrink solder wire connector things & fix it, whoo-hoo! Model 92 was easier to work on, seemed a little better made or at least a little simpler. If anyone has questions about those 2 models, I might be able to help or provide pictures.
I just bought a fairly new one off of Facebook Market place. Same exact model of yours; I agreed to buy it prior to knowing how old it was. I felt bad declining to buy it, so I took it. Bought it for $50, you could take it for $40 if you'd like as long as you cover shipping as well.
Literally just got this exact same model in a pawn shop for 19.00 dollars. Thing is a beast.
Cool Router. I have 1 just like it I just found. Still works. Now I need to find a bit and free up the adjusters. They are stuck. God Bless
Damn...... I have the same one from my GREAT grandfather, I use it sparingly since I have 2 other routers
Yep me too. I have the very same router. They sure don't build them like that anymore.
I have this exact one and I’ve never used a router before so I’m trying to figure it out
I have the same router, also mounted in a table and it stopped working while making finger joints. So I watched your video.
it must be the brushes..you know..at that age the brushes simply went on..
I have a craftsman router 315.17380 and I am looking for the Height adjustment pinion, anyone out there have parts?
That's too bad. If you want to bring G-Pa's router back to life, these are available used on ebay, craig's list and offer up. Just need another armature and brushes. Buy one as a donor and you're good to go again! Prices range from about $20 - $90. G-Pa will be happy. :-)
Mine just stopped working ...right in the middle of a project
Im late I know where the hell does that lock tight washer looking peice go? I'm trying to repair one
I have a similar router. Do you know where I can get a replacement switch?
Update: just banged it against the table and it turned on....maybe it will let me finish my project
Are you still looking for the same router I have one that is missing the nipple where the bits go into. I got it from the original owner and it looks like they hardly used it my name is Toby.
i am looking for a base plate for same router, do you knoe what universal base plate i could buy that works for it? i have the table but like to free hand with it.
i have same model dad got when i was a kid... can't find wrench..some other relative ran off w/ bits....how the heck do you remove bits? lol it's stuck
Are there any Craftsman Router 315.17380 that has donor parts available
